00:00Year 12 student Gemma Schroeder was happy to put the pressure of VCE behind her, but
00:07discovering three of her exams were compromised has left her disillusioned.
00:11With all these leaks, how are we meant to trust it?
00:14It's just, yeah, so much uncertainty.
00:18The state government is scrambling to fix the mess that has become this year's VCE exams,
00:24and sample papers containing hidden information were posted online, ahead of the tests.
00:30The VCAA today revealing the full list of 56 exams affected, nearly half of all VCE
00:38exams, ranging across the board from subjects including accounting, computing and maths,
00:45to drama, Chinese, biology, physical education and English.
00:50The VCAA has assured me that it has confirmed there is no risk that any other exams were
00:57impacted in this way.
00:59The VCAA admits a potential risk of advantage to some students, and is conducting a review,
01:05which may include comparing student performance across all their examinations.
01:10Ultimately, whether there has been an actual advantage to any student through the early
01:15release of examination material will only be determined once the marking process has
01:20concluded.
01:21The Education Minister is maintaining all students will be assessed fairly.
01:25There is no doubt that we need to have a top to bottom look at the VCAA.
01:32How can any VCE student in year 12, or in year 10 and 11 going into VCE next year, have
01:37any confidence that their exams will be not compromised into the future?
01:43For Gemma, it's another anxious fortnight before her results are revealed.
01:47I hope justice can be served to our students because we all worked really hard and I think
01:52we deserve for our hard work to be shown accordingly.
