00:06pointed out the alleged rice importation anomalies that happened during the Duterte administration

00:11remains unsolved to this day.

00:13The lawmaker cited the biggest case of price manipulation to this day is the cornering

00:18of import permits from 2016 to 2018.

00:22He made these assertions during a committee hearing indicating how the private sector

00:27allegedly had control over rice importation and manipulated import periods, which led

00:32to a significant spike in rice prices in 2018, causing Filipinos to pay eight pesos more

00:39for a kilo of rice.

00:41We want to uncover the gaps that we need to plug to achieve this goal, and if needed,

00:49the personalities that should be made accountable for making this goal difficult to achieve.
