00:00Hi, sweet girl.
00:01As an editor at the Dodo, I see a lot of crazy dog rescues.
00:05Hi, baby.
00:06Sometimes I'm sent footage at the beginning of a dog's story
00:09that makes me nervous for their future.
00:10Are they going to be okay?
00:12Are they going to find a home?
00:13Here are my all-time favorite stories
00:15of dogs who have proved me wrong.
00:16Do you like your pajamas?
00:17First, this is Khaleesi.
00:19She was saved by Mutt-Tea-Paw's rescue
00:21and in a foster home that night.
00:24She couldn't even stand at first.
00:27You can do it.
00:28Her foster parents had to re-teach her how to walk.
00:31All righty, then.
00:33Her foster's rescuers and myself
00:35were really worried that she might never recover.
00:38Let's go, come on.
00:40Come on, let's go.
00:42When a video was sent of her walking up the stairs
00:44for the very first time, I started to have some help.
00:47Oh, yeah, look at you!
00:48Yeah, Khaleesi!
00:50Awesome!
00:51But just wait to see what she looks like now.
00:54The next story that I remember being so nervous about
00:57was Magnolia's.
00:59She was so scared of the shelter,
01:01she wouldn't let anybody take her outside or touch her.
01:04Until Zaharie came along
01:06and dedicated so much time and patience towards her.
01:09She started super slow feeding her chicken through the fence.
01:14Magnolia finally put her head outside the kennel.
01:21Hey, what's up, baby?
01:24What are you doing?
01:26Oh, what's up?
01:28As the days went on, she would slowly come out
01:30and meet Zaharie.
01:31How sweet of her!
01:33Hi, sweetie.
01:35Her first friend.
01:37Yeah!
01:39That's a good girl!
01:41That's a good girl!
01:50This is the first video I got of Oswald
01:52and it broke my heart.
01:55He had a broken leg and he was found in a dumpster
01:58by the police,
01:59who called prayers from Los Adoptibles to go rescue him.
02:06He was in such bad shape
02:09and he was so emotionally dejected.
02:14But I was worried about where he could possibly go from here.
02:18Yes.
02:20And now for where each of their stories take a huge turn.
02:25Khaleesi's big turning point was when she was healthy enough
02:27to meet the resident dog.
02:29They did everything together.
02:31She couldn't stand to play,
02:33so he played with her on the ground at first.
02:37Until she was strong enough to pull him out of bed.
02:43Good job!
02:45What a smart couple doggies I got!
02:47With his help, she became so strong and healthy.
02:51I think she can lick your face forever.
02:53I think so.
02:54Her foster parents knew that they couldn't let her go
02:57after she became so bonded with their dog.
03:00Oh, wow.
03:01So, they adopted her.
03:03She made it.
03:04She pulled through.
03:05Is that good, Khaleesi?
03:07She became healthy, happy, and loved in a family of her own.
03:12Magnolia's story took a turn
03:14when Sahari was finally able to get her outside.
03:18I love her!
03:20From there, she was able to meet new people
03:23with ease at the shelter.
03:25She is so affectionate.
03:27And she got an adoption application online.
03:30Sahari drove for eight hours to meet her new family,
03:33and she was instantly smitten with them.
03:37She's living the good life of belly rubs
03:39and bedtime snuggles now.
03:44And finally, they came back up with Ospal
03:46after he got admitted to the hospital.
03:48His leg was broken.
03:54But he met a lot of great people at the animal pad
03:57who showed him so much compassion.
03:59What are you doing?
04:00So good.
04:01And he was trying to walk even with his broken leg
04:03by day three.
04:05He found a foster home, and his heart started to heal.
04:12He became besties with his foster siblings,
04:14going on bike rides,
04:18and taking beach trips.
04:20He eventually, unfortunately,
04:21had to get his leg amputated as it wasn't healing properly.
04:24And his fosters decided to adopt him,
04:27making him the second tripod in their pack of dogs.
04:30He fits right in.
04:35Good job!
04:37What a smart couple doggies I got!
04:39Good job, guys!
04:41You're so good.
