00:00Now, I wanted to combine these two

00:01is because, A, I'm a fake tree guy.

00:04You can tackle a fake tree over and over again, right?

00:07You can spruce it up.

00:08For all of you people that know about fake trees,

00:10you know the worst part about it is

00:12when you have to fluff up all the individual branches

00:15to make them look lifelike.

00:16There is an art to it.

00:18It's scientific.

00:19And all I'm saying is, maybe that

00:21could be the new tackling aid.

00:22Maybe that's how we get these guys to perform better

00:26on the field.

00:26I don't know.

00:27I'm just spitballing here.

00:28The new tackling dummies, the Christmas trees.

00:31I guess I would be sensitive to it.

00:35Somehow, he took it as it was an attack on the effort.

00:40It wasn't meant to be an attack on the effort.

00:43You called him soft, so I can get it.

00:45No, I did not call him soft.

00:48You said it was the effort.

00:50I said this.

00:51Usually, three things, Matt.

00:52Effort, technique, and focus.

00:55I think effort was said three times.

00:56Oh, yeah.

00:58Yeah, but you know, so here's what I would say, though.

01:01And I think, seriously, it's something

01:04that has been brought up a lot.

01:06And I think everybody kind of understands it.

01:08But for whatever reason, it does fall on deaf ears.

01:10And it's hard to put yourself, as a fan,

01:14into the mindset of what it takes

01:18to perform at a very high level.

01:20Because look, you get to see training camp.

01:23If you go to training camp, you get to see little windows,

01:26little pockets of the commitment and the repetition

01:31and all the things that you do to get ready.

01:34And as I've said ad nauseum, I'm sure you guys

01:37talk about this a lot, is they don't have that anymore.

01:40They just don't have the time.

01:42So it's not about effort.

01:44It's not about their intelligence.

01:47It's not insulting any of that stuff.

01:49It's just the mere fact that we had 50 times

01:53to run through one particular play or one idea or a concept

01:59that we wanted to try to implement.

02:00They've got maybe two opportunities

02:03to rep that in practice.

02:05And they don't even do it at real speed

02:07anymore because we don't put pads on, right?

02:09I mean, it's like the pads come off.

02:11And now everything is kind of virtual.

02:14We're going to virtually go through this.

02:16Well, I'm going to tell you right now,

02:17it leads to very sloppy football.
