We talk about Brian Dable fighting for his job, they need a new head coach in New York
00:04
on the Jets side, right? Both of their quarterbacks, Daniel Jones and Aaron Rogers,
00:08
most likely for the most part, 90 to 95% gone in regards to starting on the center next year.
00:16
So I'll pose it to you this way. There's talent on both sides. You can make the argument,
00:20
if you're a coach, which team can get back to at least respectability first and make it to a
00:26
playoff, and which is the better job if you're an NFL head coach, the Jets or Giants?
00:32
Well, the better job is the Giants, just because of their franchise and their organization and
00:37
their history. Although, if they fire Dable, then they are going through head coaches here
00:42
like it's nobody's business. You think about with Tom Coughlin, all the Pat Shermers and all the
00:47
guys that they've had, each one is getting like two, three years, and then by McAdoo, right?
00:52
But normally, I'd say the Giants is the better job. But the better team,
00:56
if I'm a head coach and I wanted to take, oh, it's the Jets and the landslide. The Jets' talent
01:01
is tenfold over the Giants' talent. Who would you want on that Giant team after Malik Dable?
01:06
I mean, basically nobody. Whereas the Jets, now that they got the Monte Adams, I mean,
01:11
they got two great wide receivers, theoretically, two good running backs in the backfield. The
01:15
offensive line stinks, but okay, you got to shore that up. A defense that, for whatever reason,
01:19
has regressed this year but should be good on paper, I think the Jets' job. And you're in a
01:24
division in which the Patriots stink. The Dolphins, you know, too, is an accident waiting to happen.
01:28
You know, you do have Buffalo, but okay, at least there's only one team. Giant team, you got
01:33
Washington, you know, is going to be good. Dallas is going to rebound. You know that. And Philadelphia
01:37
is going to be good for a long time. That's the tougher division in my eyes. Well, think about it.
01:41
So the AFC East, you have Buffalo, right? Potentially, you can make the argument at
01:46
plus 650. They're one of the best teams, if not, you know, with Detroit, right there,
01:51
after their victory over Kansas City. You have Miami that, unless they get rid of Waddell and
01:57
Tyreek Hill, they're going to be competitive. They have a bunch of young talent offensively.
02:02
Jalen Wright, you know, Devon Achan. I mean, come on, they have played Janouse Smith.
02:06
What a huge performance. How'd they play without two attacks?
02:09
They were the last place team. You're right, but that's a myth. How do you think the Bills would
02:13
perform without Josh Allen? I mean, we can make that argument. Yeah, but two was an accident
02:18
waiting to happen. You know, he's not even going to fit. If there was a bet on FanDuel when he
02:22
finished his season, I'll bet no. There's a concussion right around the corner. Wait a second.
02:26
So you have the Washington Commanders. You have the Philadelphia Eagles. As far as I'm concerned,
02:34
Dallas is dead and buried. Now, the season, the season, they won 12 games.
02:41
They won the last three years, Joe. They were 12-5 the last three seasons. Say what you want
02:46
about the postseason, but I wouldn't want to face them in a regular season.
02:51
So, all right. So then let me ask you this. You're Gruden or you're Bilicek or you're one
02:56
of these hot coordinators, right? Are you going Jets? Are you going Giants or are you going Dallas?
03:03
Because they're all similar situations. Yeah, it's a good question. I'm going Jets.
03:10
I'm going Jets. The Giants have nobody. I would go Giants over both of those teams.
03:18
Why? Because I think the talent in terms of the offensive side of the ball for New York
03:26
isn't that bad. Is it elite? No, you're right. Malik Nabors, he's the best player on that
03:31
offense. They're in the market for a running back, although Tyrone Tracy has come on. I mean,
03:37
one of the most productive running backs in the NFC over the past four or five weeks. He's a
03:42
young player. You have Theo Johnson. You have Jalen Hyatt. They'll most likely get rid of
03:47
Darius Slayton, but Wandale Robinson is a compliment. He's not Jalen Waddle. He's not
03:53
Jordan Addison, but he's still a good playmaker that could step up. You have problems on the
03:59
offensive line. You have problems in the secondary for that matter, but the front seven in terms of
04:05
Dexter Lawrence in that group isn't all that bad. You could build around that. I still think that
04:12
the Giants are maybe from playing a playoff contender with an average quarterback, maybe
04:21
two dominant defensive players away and an elite running back. You get somebody with Tyrone
04:27
Tracy. I don't believe Tyrone Tracy's Saquon Barkley. I know he's putting up dynamic numbers.
04:33
I think he's a compliment to some of the other running backs there. Maybe he'll turn into Kyron
04:39
Williams throughout the course of the regular season. I'll be wrong. I still think you need
04:43
to draft the running back, but I like the offensive talent. The reason why I wouldn't
04:47
pick the Jets and tell me where I'm wrong. Darrett Wilson, all in. I agree 100%. Conklin,
04:53
give or take. Tight end is a little. Devontae Adams, what are you getting out of him? I know
05:00
he's got the talent. Is he bought in or is he bought out? If Devontae doesn't like something,
05:05
he's going to do exactly what he did in terms of Las Vegas. The guy will be checked out
05:09
midway through the regular season. You'll lose it on your investment.
