Sweet Woman Becomes Neighborhood Duck Lady

Her reaction was perfect ❤️ We spoke with Erica, who transformed her new front yard into duck heaven and became inspired to turn her new neighbors into art!

00:00I bought this house five years ago, and one thing I loved about it was that there were ducks everywhere.

00:10Some of the people in the neighborhood actually raised the ducks and set them free in the neighborhood,

00:15and they thrive out here. They get fed, and they've got places to sleep.

00:19We found who I named Miss Waddles in the flower bed.

00:24She was kind of mean, and my husband's like, no, I think she's got a nest there.

00:30We knew that the eggs were duds.

00:33She was mean. She would hiss, and over time, she just started looking kind of bad,

00:38so I thought, you know, I'll give her some food.

00:50After that, it's like she went to tell all of her friends, like, hey, I know a place.

00:55Every morning, more ducks started coming to my house.

01:00When I'd open the garage door, every day just seemed like there was, you know, three more, then four more,

01:06and one morning, I counted 36 ducks.

01:15They know when my garage door opens that it's feeding time.

01:26I feed them. I put fresh water out every day for them.

01:35I have cat toys out here. Occasionally, I'll put out a kiddie pool.

01:40I do like to throw treats out every now and then.

01:43The duck crossing sign, that was a must, because I just want people to know that when they pass this house,

01:49they need to watch out for these ducks.

01:51I'll sit outside with them. I'll talk with them, and I look forward to it.

02:03I set up in my garage to paint and watch them eat.
