So we're here with the Crafty Happenings in Wolverhampton and Madam, introduce yourself.
00:04
I'm Sarah.
00:05
And this is your baby, this is your project.
00:07
Definitely, yes.
00:09
Well, I mean, we can see there's a lot of colour, there's a lot of interesting artwork around,
00:13
but what is the Crafty Happenings? What's it all about?
00:16
Well, we're an independent gift shop and we look after between 40-45 makers,
00:23
artists and small businesses, some of whom are from local areas,
00:28
but some further afield now as well, from Brighton, Kettering, all over the place.
00:34
So you were originally a Cardiff girl.
00:37
You discovered wolves via the University, or the Poly, as was there, and you never left.
00:43
You lost the return ticket.
00:46
So we're just off, not far off the Pen Road really, what's the address here?
00:50
We're 199A Windsor Avenue.
00:52
Windsor Avenue, next door to the toy shop, if people know that.
00:56
And it's fantastic stuff in here.
00:58
We've got a bit of everything, haven't we?
00:59
We've got dried flowers, cards, just talk us through some of the products that people can see and pick up.
01:04
We've got a huge range of products.
01:06
We've got gift kits, we've got hand-dyed yarn, we've got home decor,
01:11
and as you said, dried flowers, jewellery and a lovely range of cards for every occasion.
01:18
Yeah, you have got some fantastic cards actually.
01:21
And workshops as well, that's kind of a lot of stuff that happens here.
01:25
We do creative workshops for both adults and children.
01:29
So we run regular kids workshops through the summer holidays and half-terms
01:33
and adult workshops all the way through the year.
01:37
And you were saying, the lady that does the dried flowers,
01:39
she's doing a Christmas wreath workshop coming up.
01:42
We'll be doing Christmas wreath workshops along with needle felted gnomes.
01:47
Yeah, I love that look.
01:49
We've got Christmas calligraphy cards and we've also got a brand new course new to us,
01:54
lino printing as well this year.
01:56
Fantastic, yeah.
01:57
I was loving the idea of the Makrami Santy we were chatting about earlier.
02:02
So it's just you here that's based on site here?
02:07
That's correct.
02:08
So what's opening times?
02:10
If people want to find out more, when are you open?
02:12
We're open Tuesdays till Saturdays.
02:15
So Tuesdays and Fridays we're 11am till 3pm
02:18
and then the rest of the week we're here 11am till 5pm.
02:22
You can find all the details on our Instagram and Facebook pages
02:26
or you can just get in touch, give us a call.
02:29
So are we quite creative here in the Black Country then?
02:32
Is there a wealth of talent kind of behind those doors?
02:34
Definitely, definitely.
02:34
There's a lot of creative, talented people beavering away at home,
02:39
growing their little craft sheds
02:41
and it's just really, it's an honour actually to be able to showcase some of these products here
02:46
and get them out to a wider audience.
