Petition launched to move Hartlepool's Christmas tree

00:00I'm in Church Square with the Hartlepool resident Dennis Hendridge. Dennis, behind us we have

00:05Christ Church and we have the Christmas tree. I understand you're not happy that it's there

00:08again. Well no, it's been there now for a few years and as you can see the only people

00:14who can see the tree are the ones who will come up from Church Street or from the railway

00:18station or those in the pub opposite having a drink and nobody can gather round it. You

00:24know this is our tree and the fact of it is no groups can go there. You've seen how close

00:30to the road it is and it doesn't look very good does it? So I've put a petition together

00:34online and there's 800 people have signed it and I've took it to the council offices

00:39and hopefully it will get moved to a trifled place which where the vast majority of people

00:44are wanting it up at the Cenotaph which I think will be great and it'll be good for

00:48the town and it's a boost at this time of the year. It doesn't look very good does it?

00:53Let's face it, where it is there now.
