00:00The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, or APEC, must recognize the potential of non-traditional alliances
00:06such as the African Union, Latin America, and BRICS.
00:10Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said this at the regional forum that partnerships with ASEAN,
00:17the African Union, and cross-border digital networks can redefine our global resilience.
00:24He adds the partnership will also foster digital cooperation that reflects our values,
00:30creating alternatives to traditional models of development.
00:33Anwar said this during his intervention at the APEC Leaders' Informal Dialogue with guests on Friday,
00:39the penultimate day of the APEC Economic Leaders' Week.
00:43Anwar, who is also the finance minister, said that working in unison, APEC and BRICS
00:48have the opportunity to deliver an inclusive vision for economic growth
00:53that empowers communities across continents.
00:56Anwar said that to protect them, APEC must connect its resources and expertise
01:02to other regions with similarly ambitious goals.
01:05He also said these cross-regional partnerships would allow the APEC economies
01:09to harness the full strength of the collective innovation,
