00:00As the second day of the Grand Congress of the Historical Bolivarian Bloc is underway
00:05in Caracas, Venezuela, we go to the site of the event with our correspondent Belén de
00:09los Santos, who has more updates on today's work agenda.
00:14The second day of the Grand Congress of the Bolivarian Historical Bloc is coming to an
00:23end.
00:24This participative initiative that was proposed by the administration of President Nicolás
00:30Maduro with the objective of introducing a popular discussion on the nation's strategic
00:37goals for the upcoming mandate, for the upcoming 30 years.
00:43One of the phrases that many of the delegates that were present here in the Congress highlighted
00:48was the unprecedented nature of this event, as they say, this was the first time that
00:54a state president has summoned every social and political organization to debate and to
01:01help draw up a series of conclusions for the national development plan.
01:06So the debate has been going on throughout the day as we have been bringing to you and
01:12every assembly gathering delegates from across the territory and across the Venezuelan generations,
01:19that is the five generations that were surrounding strategic topics which have been denominated
01:27the seven teams, that is for the seven transformations.
01:31This is an ongoing process of participation and one of the aspects to highlight regarding
01:37this Congress is that precisely the importance of popular participation in the current stage
01:56of the Bolivarian process.
01:58I would like to keep in mind for a second that for example, as the process that ends
02:07with the Grand Congress is going on, Venezuela has also been hosting the International Congress
02:13Against Fascism, calling for a deeper understanding of the challenges that face not only Venezuela
02:20but the region and that threatens its revolutionary process.
02:25In this context, in the face of this threat, this participatory process that is this Congress
02:31that calls on every last member of the Bolivarian people to think, to debate, to discuss and
02:38defend its historical conquest is really a key element for the active defense of the
02:43revolutionary process.
02:45So what is happening here today needs to be thought in that way as a call to the people
02:51to deepen its compromise, to deepen its revolutionary actions in a world context that moves drastically
03:00to the far right.
03:02This second day of the Congress comes to an end with the intervention of the Vice President
03:07of Venezuela, Rodrigo Alonso, and the Minister of the Interior, Diosdado Cabello, and all
03:13the delegates will be back tomorrow, Saturday, to continue the assemblies and to begin forming
03:20the final collective conventions that will engage the Venezuelans to come in the next
03:2730 years.
