Transcript
00:00from climate is now time for a look at tonight's weather forecast. And Joe said
00:04after almost every day this week seeing rainfall, can we look forward to sunny skies this weekend?
00:12Thank you Arashi. Good evening Trinidad and Tobago. It's Friday and you know what that means,
00:18lime time for some. So let's talk weather. Today was a mixed bag with some fair periods and showers.
00:25Temperatures in the twin island pushed up to 33 degrees Celsius in Trinidad
00:29and 32 in Tobago. It was definitely not the day to forget those water bottles because with that
00:35heat index it definitely felt more like 36. Tonight we can expect some generally fair
00:42conditions with temperatures reaching as low as 24 in Trinidad and 23 in Tobago. But if you're
00:48headed out to that lime, don't be surprised if you get an unexpected splash from above.
00:54In the event that these showers do become thundery, be mindful flash flooding can occur
00:59so do yourself a favor and stay safe out there. Now looking at the rest of the weekend, I hope
01:04you're ready for some more rain. That intertropical conversion zone or ITCZ, that's just big weather
01:10talk for a big band of clouds and rain, is just sitting to the east-southeast of us meaning it'll
01:16likely bring us some more wet weather. So if you're wondering if you'll need to adjust your
01:20Saturday plans, well even though it's going to be on the warmer side of things with temperatures
01:25reaching 33 degrees celsius in Trinidad and 32 in Tobago, some showers may pop up. And if you're
01:32planning to sleep in late on Sunday or just chill, it's gonna be a bit of a similar vibe weather-wise.
01:37Things should cool off slightly with temps at 31 in Trinidad and 32 in Tobago. Apparently the sun
01:43hasn't gotten the weekend memo just yet as sunrise will be at 6.02 in Trinidad and 6 o'clock in
01:50Tobago. Sunset should be at 5.38 p.m in Trinidad and 5.36 in Tobago.
02:00If you're willing to brave the seas, know that seas will be moderate. Waves can be expected to
02:06reach as high as two meters in open waters and one and a half in sheltered areas. Now here's
02:12a look at our tide times. Here's a quick regional update. Tropical storm Sara has made landfall in
02:30Honduras and it's causing some serious rainfall. More than just 500 millimeters in just 24 hours.
02:37Luckily no loss of life has been reported.
02:42So there you have it. It looks like a wet weekend ahead folks.
02:46Have a great weekend, stay safe and enjoy the lime, rain and or sunshine.
