00:00As Ondo State gears up for tomorrow's election, there's a sense of anticipation mixed with

00:08INEC has begun distributing sensitive materials, which the resident electoral commissioner

00:14has assured would seamlessly get to even difficult terrains, while prioritising the largest local

00:19government areas to ensure a smooth process.

00:22The distribution exercise is going on very smoothly.

00:26The farthest local governments have started moving to their local governments.

00:29All the other local governments, they have received their materials, they are checking

00:32and they are loading the vehicles.

00:34The assistant commissioner of police, Muyiwa Adejobi, has also warned against possible

00:39disruptions which he said would attract severe consequences.

00:44The Nigeria Police Force has continued to gear up its preparations and strategies,

00:51reinforcing adequate security measures to ensure a smooth run of the electoral process.

00:59As part of these security measures, the force once again reiterates the ban on the use of

01:07unauthorised siren, covered number plates, aid and escort to VIPs during the elections.

01:18Local unauthorised and coerced security agencies are once again warned to stay clear as violators

01:27will experience severe consequences and face the full wrath of the law.

01:32While 17 candidates initially entered this race, recent developments have changed the field.

01:38Three candidates from the Accord Party, National Rescue Movement and Action Democratic Congress

01:44have pulled out, rallying support for the incumbent governor.

01:48While a recent Court of Appeal decision previously nullified the Labour Party's candidacy,

01:54Olorunfemi Ayodele Festos, Labour Party's candidate, has been restored following a court order.

02:00Among the major candidates, Loki Ayedatiwa and Agbola Adjaye of the People's Democratic Party

02:07both share an interesting political history, having served as deputies to the late governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
