00:00Good afternoon, my name is Phil Hewitt, Group Arts Editor at Sussex Newspapers. Always one
00:06of the great pleasures in Chichester to speak to Vicki Edwards, dear friend of many years
00:09standing. Now, Vicki, you are doing something really, truly exciting this time. You are
00:13bringing the Priory Park Panto experience to Chichester. What is it?
00:17Well, not just me, myself, Katie Bennett, Riley Clark and John Harcourt. We are performing
00:25the Priory Park Panto experience. It's a cracking little story. It contains all the
00:30traditional Panto elements that people love. So we've got a sing-along, we've got audience
00:34participation, we've got a few surprises as well. And it is, we can run from Friday the
00:4113th through to Sunday the 15th of December, four shows on the Saturday, four on the Sunday,
00:47one on the Friday. And it is, I hope, going to be a really wholesome, magical, special
00:53Christmas experience. More festive fun, and you can say this to him, I'm hungry.
00:59Why is it happening now?
01:02Why is it, sorry?
01:03Why is it happening now?
01:04Oh, why is it happening now? Well, I think the idea was to use Priory Park and the Guildhall
01:11just for something that was really family focused, that would really deliver on kind
01:16of that feel-good factor that people love at that time of year. And magic, I don't think
01:21you can understate magic at Christmas, it's special.
01:25And you are going to be giving us your Mrs Santa, aren't you?
01:29I am indeed going to be Mrs Santa, but Mrs Santa with a bit of sass, and she's a modern
01:34gal.
01:35And the brains of the operation, you were suggesting?
01:38The brains, well I think, you know, Santa is the face of Christmas, nobody can dispute
01:44that. But I think behind every successful man is a woman.
01:50You are probably right. Now, if this goes really well, who knows, this could be the
01:54start of a bit of a Chichester tradition, couldn't it? I mean, it's such a lovely venue
01:58you're walking into.
02:00It really is, it's a really special venue. I mean, it's historically, it's got some phenomenally
02:04interesting facts about it. You know, it's been a court, it's been a museum, it hosts
02:08weddings, now a panto, who knows? I think we need to get through this year first, see
02:14how we go.
02:15Fantastic. And tickets, where do people get the tickets?
02:20Tickets from the Novium box office. There are details that I will post online liberally.
02:26Fantastic, good. Well, lovely to speak to you. Congratulations on this new venture.
02:31Can't wait to come and see you. Thank you ever so much.
