00:00House lawmakers clarified the issues surrounding the rescheduling of the quad committee hearing
00:05of which the former president, Rodrigo Duterte, signified to attend.
00:10The change in the hearing date caused quite a stir on social media, with netizens taking
00:14a jab at the joint panel so long.
00:17Why?
00:18As Morris explains in this report.
00:46The House Quad Committee leaders insisted they are neither scared nor intimidated by
00:50former President Rodrigo Duterte.
00:53In fact, they have long requested him to attend their hearings.
00:56According to Quadcom lead chair Robert Ace Barbers, even before the news spread on social
01:01media that Duterte was supposedly going to attend the hearing tomorrow, it had already
01:05been cancelled and this information was promptly relayed to the former president's cam.
01:10Some have commented, however, that it appears the Quad Committee may have been scared.
01:39The joint panel asserted their next hearing has been rescheduled for November 21, and
01:44if former President Duterte truly wants to attend, he is welcome to do so, and they are
01:49even willing to cover his travel and accommodation expenses.
02:04In a statement, former presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo said they will still go to
02:09the lower house tomorrow and confront the Quadcom members on their cancelled hearing.
02:14For Makabayan Black lawmakers, they called on the former president to stop the drama
02:18and face the families of alleged EJK victims.
