00:00House Quad Committee Co-Chair Representative Bienvenido Abante Jr. urged the Department
00:05of Justice, or DOJ, and the Office of the Ombudsman to study the possible filing of
00:10a case against former President Rodrigo Duterte based on his statements in today's Senate
00:16hearing.
00:17In particular, the lawmaker pointed out the former president's admission that he should
00:22be the one to be penalized and go to jail for all the issues regarding the war on drugs.
00:27Even the so-called young guns of the lower house made a call to hold former President
00:32Duterte accountable.
00:33For his part, House Deputy Majority Leader Jude Asidre pointed out the former chief executive
00:39himself took full responsibility for all that transpired and should be put behind bars for
00:45the alleged extrajudicial killings.
00:48Meanwhile, House Assistant Majority Leader Paolo Ortega said, if local authorities don't
00:53act on this matter, then it can be coursed through the International Criminal Court or
00:58ICC.
00:59Recent admission by the former president of responsibility for all the killings under
01:09his controversial war on drugs during the Senate hearing could open up, could open the
01:16doors for legal action, both domestically and internationally, for them to make an initial
01:35investigation on that.
