00:00Hi there. Last week a lot of people talked about anti-cyclonic gloom. The weather over
00:06the next few days is still anti-cyclonic, that means high pressure, but this time without
00:11the gloom, or without widespread gloom at least. So, weather front has cleared southwards
00:16and it's still bringing some low cloud and mistiness to southwestern parts of Cornwall
00:21during the rest of Monday. But elsewhere across the UK, brighter skies, not entirely blue
00:26skies, there is a lot of medium and high cloud around, and certainly some patchy cloud
00:31bringing the odd shower into the north of Scotland, as well as the east coast of England.
00:34A brisk breeze here will make it feel on the cold side. Lighter winds elsewhere, pleasant
00:39enough, 13-15 in the southwest, 10-12 elsewhere. And under the clear skies, with this clean
00:47air mass in charge now, we've got falling temperatures overnight and some fog patches
00:54forming. The most likely areas for fog, West Midlands, northwest England into the south
00:59and central part of Scotland, as well as Northern Ireland where the fog could be widespread
01:04and dense. We'll also see some pockets of frost first thing Tuesday, as low as minus
01:083 degrees in some sheltered spots. Main urban areas staying just above freezing, but a chilly
01:13start and a widespread grass frost. We're likely to see bright skies in many places,
01:18but we will have that fog across Northern Ireland, the central belt, southern Scotland,
01:22parts of Northern England, and in places it could last into the afternoon. Otherwise,
01:28patchy cloud continues to arrive in from the east, and some showers for the far southeast,
01:33especially Kent where it will feel cold with the wind coming from the North Sea. A brisk
01:37wind for the northwest of Scotland as well, lighter winds in between, and a pleasant enough
01:42afternoon for most. It's going to be dry and bright, albeit not entirely sunny because
01:47we do have those areas of cloud coming into the Midlands, the south and southeast at times.
01:53A weather front then brings thicker cloud into the north and northwest, some spots of
01:57rain on that on Wednesday. It weakens as it comes south, but I think a cloudier picture
02:03developing on Wednesday and Thursday. Before Friday, this area of low pressure swings into
02:09Scandinavia bringing colder northerly winds with it. So, an interesting week ahead with
02:16some changes to come, certainly an improvement I suspect for many places compared with the
02:22gloom of last week. Bye-bye.
