00:00Welcome to World Travel Market 2024 and we are here at XL in London where the
00:07team from Tobago is busy advertising, marketing Tobago and engaging in several
00:14B2B conversations. What are these B2B conversations? Here we have an
00:20opportunity to speak to all of our international stakeholders including our
00:25airline partners, our tour operators, our marketing professionals, hoteliers and
00:32all other stakeholders so that we can get them to see Tobago as a premier
00:38destination in the Caribbean. Mr. Augustine said a number of meetings took
00:43place inclusive of one with British Airways. Tobago is doing well in fact I
00:49just came out of a meeting with British Airways and our numbers are up year on
00:54year by 15% and our forward booking numbers are up by 13% and so we just
01:01have to be consistent we have to ensure we continue to put in the work. The team
01:07in London is joined by a number of tourism stakeholders from Tobago and
01:11Trinidad with Tobago products on display. We are also joined here by stakeholders
01:16from across the island so many of our hoteliers they have sent representatives
01:22and have paid to be part of this engagement here in London. We expect to
01:28have well in excess of 50 meetings here which means that we have extremely long
01:34days. Elizabeth Williams TV6 News
