00:00The Department of Trade and Industry, or the DTI, reported the country has emerged as the fastest-growing Internet economy in Southeast Asia

00:09due to its growing domestic consumption, revitalized services sector, and higher remittances from overseas Filipino workers, or OFWs.

00:18Trade Secretary Maria Cristina Roque stated that the 2024 Google, Temasek, and Baynan Coast Study

00:25highlights the success of the Marcos, Jr. Administration's digital economy strategies,

00:32noting that a unified government approach is fostering growth, innovation, and improving lives for all Filipinos.

00:40She also emphasized that a coordinated national effort is advancing the digital economy through initiatives

00:47such as DTI's support for Amazon E digitalization, DICT's digital infrastructure projects,

00:55BSP's push for digital payments, DOF's adoption of digital tax and customs policies, and Congress' passage of relevant laws.
