With the recent detection of a more infectious strain of mpox in the UK, how worried are you about the possibility of another pandemic?

We spoke to the public about their views on the recent strain of mpox and if they think the country would accept another lockdown.

00:00Um, monkeypaws has been something that we've seen before. It's not like um, what's it called?

00:08It's not like um, covid and it's not, monkeypaws I'm not sure, it's not an airborne disease

00:15just like covid. Covid is an airborne disease and would spread faster than monkeypaws.

00:20No, I don't think they would. I mean it was bad enough but the lockdown in 2020

00:25into 21 it was you know it affected a lot of people.

00:28Sitting on the fence about that one, but I didn't know about the monkeypaws until I heard it.

00:31There's always something coming, there was um, bird flu wasn't a while ago.

00:35You know we lost my wife's sister through covid and it was you know very hard times

00:41emotionally and also my wife was in hospital as well. Me and my daughter we suffered from it at

00:47home. It was hard physically and emotionally and like I say mentally as well. Yeah.

00:54Yeah, hard times but I don't think the country would stand for another lockdown.
