00:00Once again, there will be no public firework displays in Glasgow on Bonfires Night,
00:03but there will be some events just a short drive out of the city.
00:06Glasgow Life have said the estimated cost of hosting one would be £350,000, which is too expensive.
00:12Here are a few nearby events taking place on the 5th of November.
00:15Strathclyde Park is hosting its annual bonfire and fireworks show alongside the Big Feed Kitchen.
00:20Near the Hamilton area, the site is easily accessible from the M8.
00:24The event will run from 5.30, with the bonfire starting at 6.30 and fireworks display at 7.30, and entry as 3.
00:31Easterhouse Parish Church is hosting an event from 5-7pm, with tickets priced at £4.50,
00:37and includes a burger or hot dog, hot drink, a sparkler and access to view the display.
00:42A display is also taking place in Giffenick at the GHA Rugby Club from 6-9pm.
00:48Family tickets are available and under-5s go free.
00:51Glasgow's not had a fireworks display itself since before the pandemic in 2019,
00:56as there used to be an annual event in Glasgow Green.
