Authorities have ordered two eateries in Batangkali to be closed due to hygiene violations.
00:08
The Hulu-Selangor Municipal Council said on Tuesday that its licensing department together
00:13
with other agencies responsible for solid waste management conducted an integrated operation
00:19
against the two premises on Monday.
00:22
The council said they identified issues such as cross-contamination of ingredients in the
00:27
refrigerator used for storage, unclean chicken eggs, food handlers not wearing closed shoes
00:33
and untidy walls.
00:35
They said there were also signs of cockroaches and mosquito larvae found at the premises.
00:40
They said the premises failed to implement registered pest control measures as required
00:45
by the Poisons Board.
00:47
The authorities issued three compound notices to the operators of the two premises ordering
00:52
their closure.
00:53
They said this will serve as a warning to owners and operators of other food premises
00:58
to maintain cleanliness and ensure food safety at their establishments.
