Georgian voters wary of pro-Russian drift as they head to polls

"If the pro-Russian side wins, I'm definitely going to leave Georgia," says Tamta, one of those heading to the polls for parliamentary elections that will determine the country's future. Many are hoping to halt the drift towards Moscow seen under the ruling Georgian Dream party, which earlier this year passed a controversial "foreign influence" bill, targeting civil society and sparking weeks of mass street protests.

00:00All that has happened in the last few years shows that our country is going towards Russia,

00:27it's going against democracy and for me it's not a country that I would like to live in.

00:39If the pro-Russian side wins, I will leave Georgia.

00:45It's the first time in my life that I really think about it.

00:57They say that if they win the election, they're going to rule out a lot of the parties that are now in opposition,

01:13which is just, again, really something akin to a dictatorship.
