00:00Georgia's ruling party, Georgian Dream, declared victory as a lead with a majority vote, according

00:07to first partial results released by the Central Election Commission.

00:12Earlier on Saturday, all parties had claimed victory after exit polls showed different

00:17winners, but the partial results show that the ruling party is in the lead by almost

00:2253 percent.

00:24It's still unclear who will form the next government, but if Georgian Dream wins a parliamentary

00:29majority, it will stoke fears about the country's bid for EU membership.

00:35The political landscape in Georgia is extremely polarized, and as a result, the elections

00:40have been incredibly divisive.

00:43The pivotal parliamentary elections put Georgia at a crossroad between the EU and Russia,

00:48and many voters saw the elections as a make-or-break vote on the opportunity to join the European

00:53Union.

00:54An investigation opened after a video went viral showing several people stuffing a box

00:59with ballots, and violence broke out in several locations.
