Metal artist Luke Perry unveils his frog sculpture off Reedswood Park Road in Walsall.

00:00OK, so Deputy Mayor of Walsall, Louise Harrison, you've just helped to unveil the new frog

00:06sculpture by Luke Perry here at Reeds Wood.

00:10Just explain what you think of it and what it means to you to unveil it.

00:16Well for a start I think he's absolutely beautiful, look at that little face, he's really, really

00:21well made.

00:22He stands out, everybody that drives down there, walks down there is going to see him

00:28and it's going to show them what Walsall Council thinks of the environment, you know, we're

00:33here to protect it, as it says underneath, because he's absolutely fantastic.

00:39The detail's amazing, he's just really, really good, big well done to Luke, he's amazing.

00:47We're over in Reeds Wood Park in Walsall and what we've unveiled today is the frog life

00:51sculpture which is called We Protect Nature and it's celebrating really the under-recognised

01:01importance of our urban wildlife centres and how much it's vital to protect those to make

01:08sure the wildlife that lives there, particularly amphibious wildlife and again the nature represented

01:16here within the wildflowers, to represent how important they are for our ecosystem and

01:22how pressured they are to actually be alive themselves.

01:27So this hopefully draws a bit of attention to the beauty that we have and that we need

01:31to look after it.
