00:00The state of calamity of Calbayog in Samar has been put under state of calamity.

00:04The relief operations of the government in Calbayog continues.

00:08The national news from Suzette Pratensio of Radyo Pilipinas, Calbayog.

00:16A tragedy was left by Hurricane Christine in the city of Calbayog

00:20as a reason to declare by the local government the state of calamity.

00:25According to the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office or CDRRMO,

00:3158 barangays in the city experienced flooding, landslides and destruction of houses,

00:38infrastructure and livelihoods of residents.

00:41Almost 3,000 families were affected by the destruction of their homes

00:46and were forced to evacuate to evacuation centers.

00:49Some of the families were evacuated to Barangay Lunoy,

00:53where, according to the victims, they are waiting inside their homes

00:58where the water supply for the rescuers has been cut off.

01:02Some students were also trapped in their boarding houses and were evacuated.

01:07Aside from flooding, some barangays also experienced landslides.

01:11Meanwhile, many roads were not able to pass

01:15due to the landslides and fallen trees.

01:18The main road that connects Calbayog to Catarman via Lope de Vega was temporarily closed.

01:26At present, relief operations are underway in the city of Calbayog

01:32with uniformed personnel.

01:35Meanwhile, Northwest Summer State University or NWSSU is also engaged

01:41in cooperating with the Rotaract of the Greater Calbayog

01:44of relief operations to all students who were victims of Hurricane Christine.

01:49According to CDRRMO Head Dr. Sandro Daguman,

01:53Calbayog will provide assistance to the State of Calamity

01:57so that the barangay can use its Quick Response Fund

02:01to provide assistance to those affected.

02:04In the midst of this tragedy,

02:06residents continue to rely on the government's swift action,

02:11especially on food assistance, clean drinking water,

02:15medicines, and shelter materials for their recovery.
