00:00Let's show you that the process that you're entailing with this team has so far been working,
00:26and it's presenting the same outcome.
00:30The easy answer to that question, Randolph, is yes.
00:33You know, you pop the bubble every time a team has a win and some of the pressure goes off.
00:38But, you know, it kind of depends on what your perspective is and what you're looking at.
00:43And, you know, we're trying to achieve some things this season now.
00:51I was going to hide the fact that it was a horrendous, difficult first round.
00:57Not all of our play was horrendous, but, you know, who doesn't focus on results?
01:05So we try not to focus entirely on results.
01:10So it would be a little bit, I guess, exploiting the moment if I said that getting a result all of a sudden makes everything okay.
01:20It really doesn't.
01:22It does take some of the pressure off.
01:25It does relieve things a bit.
01:27But we're really trying to mature a lot of younger players, a lot of players that lack significant experience.
01:36You know, this group of guys had to replace a lot of players that were expected to be here this season.
01:44And you guys know their names.
01:46You know, you can write their names if you want.
01:49But when we got half our squad as first year players, half of that half didn't arrive until May, June.
02:01It has to be about their growth.
02:07Nobody likes to give results away.
02:11So it's always, you know, kind of a joyous occasion when we get a result.
02:17In other years, we would have been very circumspect about enjoying our results because we would have been focused on loftier goals.
02:27This year, we don't want to get too carried away when we get a result, but these guys deserve to enjoy them.
02:36Because trust me, tomorrow in practice or Monday in practice, the focus is going to be again on maturation and evolution and development.
02:48With a view to winning more games.
02:51But more importantly, to seasoning players for whatever future they have at Ateneo, whatever future they have in basketball.
03:00And, you know, because we had such a tough start, it allows us, I guess, to be a little bit more laser focused on how these guys are growing and developing as players.
03:11And we all know that the philosophy of the Blue Eagle program is that process yields results.
03:19So it's really consistent with what we've always taught.
03:23It's just that there's more pressure on the process externally because people want results.
03:30But we will maintain, you know, our same, I guess, integrity and purpose that we always try to maintain.
03:39And that is that these young men deserve the very best from the coaching staff to help them become professional basketball players.
03:46And in the meantime, represent our community and our university to the best of our ability.
03:52All of it is based on experience.
03:54That's true.
