00:00Well thanks Ross, it's fantastic to be back in the Hunter as Shadow Infrastructure,

00:04Transport and Regional Development Minister and to really see the opportunities that are just

00:09waiting to be grasped right here in the Hunter. Not just domestically here at home but obviously

00:14those international relationships which the Hunter and Newcastle in particular have been

00:20so integral in developing over the last few years. We've toured the port of Newcastle and

00:27seen the opportunities that are available there. We've got a briefing and an update on the

00:32Coalition's $100 million investment into the port in terms of being able to develop

00:38new relationships going forward and getting on with the clean energy transition.

00:43We've also met with Cedar Hill, development there and looking at what we need to do in

00:50terms of transport infrastructure to assist that. But I think what has been clear today

00:56is that the Hunter has been taken for granted by Anthony Albanese's Labor Government. This is a

01:03community, a region that is just bursting at the seams with opportunities and it needs a government

01:09that doesn't take it for granted, that doesn't cut and delay critical infrastructure projects.

01:14You are seeing population pressures here on every single street corner and the government has cut

01:21and delayed critical projects, road and rail. They're actually stopping you being able to

01:27deal with the additional population increases here at this time.
