00:00One of Beirut's most well-known nightclubs has been turned into a shelter for about 400
00:06displaced Lebanese amid ongoing Israeli attacks.
00:10The Sky Bar's humanitarian effort is sponsored by VIP guests who used to spend thousands
00:16of dollars a night at the nightclub.
00:17They asked me if I was going to spend the night. I said yes. They asked me how I prayed.
00:22I said I pray normally at the Sky Bar. It used to be a nightclub, but now it's a mosque.
00:27I don't know what a nightclub is.
00:57The Sky Bar team started by accepting some 70 people at the end of September, and they
01:11did not expect to be able to accommodate hundreds of adults and children.
01:15After the bombardment that happened, the first one of Hassan Nasrallah, everything shut down,
01:21everything stopped. So one of the owners was just passing by just to check the premises
01:28and stuff. So he saw a lot of people with no roofs, you know, just sitting by the street,
01:34no clothes on, barely things with them. So he was the one who asked if they needed to
01:40be sheltered, and they said yes. And this is how it started.
01:44We don't have a specific time because we don't really know when this is going to end. It
01:50could stay for a month, it can stay for days, we can wake up tomorrow with nothing. So until
01:56then we need to, you know, just be there, stand with our people, stand with each other
02:01and try as much as possible to do what's best for everyone.
