More tropical troubles in Caribbean; Fall chill in Northeast

AccuWeather's Bernie Rayno and Joe Lundberg look ahead to next week where concerns grow for more tropical development brewing in the Caribbean. Fall chill coming to the Northeast.

00:00Seeing a lot of snow on the ground in the at the resorts near Killington this

00:05morning. It's been a and even here at AccuWeather HQ it's been a cold start to

00:10the Friday. Yes saw some frost outside this morning after a beautiful sighting

00:15of auroras last night. Boy what a show that was last night all the way to the

00:19southern portions of the U.S. As we look ahead the next week well maybe we'll

00:23get an opportunity to see those if you have clear skies on a given night. But

00:27the three things to know about next week gonna be highlighted by more

00:29tropical concerns in the Caribbean. We'll detail that in a moment.

00:32November chill for the Northeast. Temperatures well below average and yeah

00:36again you could see some snowflakes in the higher elevations along with some

00:39frost. Dry and comfortable. Good news across those cleaning up from Helene and

00:43from Milton for much of the southeast including Florida. You know Joe well

00:48we've seen storm after storm move toward the toward Florida. The pattern the last

00:54couple of weeks have been has been very quiet across the United States. Yeah

00:58middle part of the country. Bernie has been dominated by this upper level ridge.

01:01It's coming back again. Now there'll be a shot of chilly air that will come

01:04down the plain Sunday night and Monday. So Kansas City in ST Louis you may see

01:09record warmth tomorrow but during the course of early next week it's gonna be

01:13below average. But then that quickly fades eastward and this upper level

01:17ridge rebuilds and it gets incredibly warm once again and very very dry. Big

01:21front comes into the northwest on Wednesday and that's gonna bring some

01:24cooler air and some showers to those areas in the northeast. Big upper level

01:28low in here that's gonna drive this chilly air southeastern so you get these

01:32showers in here and there may even be a few snowflakes in the higher elevations.

01:35Then as it clears out high-pressure builds eastward underneath this ridge

01:39Bernie we're gonna be seeing areas that could see frost believe it or not

01:43several nights next week. In fact that's one of our concerns going forward. But

01:47let's talk about the tropics. I know you've been big on this. This area here

01:50in the Caribbean is a hotbed for development for later next week. Yeah and

01:54then Joe as you meant because you're underneath the belly of the high you

01:58worry about tropical development and then run right underneath the high you

02:02have another problem. You do at the surface high-pressure system it'll be in

02:05here Monday night so these places are going to be in the 20s and 30s with

02:09widespread frost maybe a hard freeze as that moves eastward during the course of

02:13the week probably the Ohio Valley and up into the Great Lakes you'll have some

02:16frost and maybe by Wednesday night in parts of the Appalachians. Long Range
