Menteri Energi Dan Sumber Daya Mineral (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia, memberi pesan agar awak Kementerian yang dipimpinnya tidak zalim terhadap hak-hak masyarakat daerah yang tinggal di sekitar tambang. Berdasarkan data jaringan advokasi tambang terdapat 45 konflik pertambangan yang terjadi. Terdapat 13 kasus yang melibatkan aparat militer maupun polisi dalam kasus perampasan lahan, kriminalisasi maupun intimidasi warga.
