How many portions of fruit and vegetables do you reckon you eat each day?
00:07
Most of us know that healthcare professionals recommend we incorporate five portions of the healthy stuff each and every day,
00:13
but shocking figures reveal the nation's kids aren't hitting these goals.
00:17
Only one in every ten children aged between 11 and 18 are getting their five a day.
00:22
And the data also shows it's often up to teachers to fill the gap.
00:26
In fact, one in four school teachers across the UK have admitted to bringing in healthy food for their pupils within the last term
00:32
to help kids boost their intake, which is a rise from when the same question was asked last year.
00:37
It's thought the issues are worse in the parts of the country where families are more frequently living in food insecurity,
00:43
as households try to balance eating healthily with eating at all.
00:47
But what about you? How do you feel knowing that so few children are eating enough fruits and vegetables?
00:52
And what impact do you think that has on their health and their future?
00:55
What do you think of the idea that teachers are having to bring in food for pupils?
00:59
How does that make you feel about the state of child nutrition and school support?
