00:07Most of us know that healthcare professionals recommend we incorporate five portions of the healthy stuff each and every day,

00:13but shocking figures reveal the nation's kids aren't hitting these goals.

00:17Only one in every ten children aged between 11 and 18 are getting their five a day.

00:22And the data also shows it's often up to teachers to fill the gap.

00:26In fact, one in four school teachers across the UK have admitted to bringing in healthy food for their pupils within the last term

00:32to help kids boost their intake, which is a rise from when the same question was asked last year.

00:37It's thought the issues are worse in the parts of the country where families are more frequently living in food insecurity,

00:43as households try to balance eating healthily with eating at all.
