A community skills centre is launching in Newton Abbot - find out what the Teignbridge Community Project is and who it is for.

00:00This is Anna, and she's my daughter. I'm Colette, and we're the Managing Directors for the

00:08Tidbush Community Project.

00:09So we're offering a skills centre to people, well it's a multi-purpose opportunity centre

00:10that we're offering to people with learning disabilities, mental health issues, kind of

00:11out of the main student education centre, and people who are just learning in isolation.

00:12Yeah, so to everybody really, it's so special.

00:13So we've got hair, beauty, nails, woodwork, textiles, gardening, baking, digital skills,

00:38upcycling furniture, and particularly gardening. We've got the use of the community garden

00:45just down from us, and we've got some lovely projects lined up for that.

00:50I work for a company in Torquay who does something very similar, and I've just seen the impact

00:55that it has on our adults and young people with learning disabilities and mental health

01:00issues, and I work to do the same with you really.
