00:00Every week, for almost a year, protesters have marched through Melbourne's CBD.
00:09But this week, the message is clear.
00:12Attending a protest on October 7th is not something that is appropriate in any way.
00:18It is a solemn occasion. It's not an occasion for protest.
00:22Monday will mark one year since the Hamas terror attacks,
00:26which saw 1,200 people killed in Israel.
00:29This is the biggest loss of Jewish life since the Holocaust.
00:32Melbourne organisers say they will forge ahead with both a protest on Sunday
00:37and a silent vigil on Monday evening to commemorate the tens of thousands of people killed in Gaza.
00:44The Australian Federal Police is investigating after a small number of people
00:48displayed the flag of Hezbollah, a listed terrorist organisation in Australia, at last Sunday's rally.
00:55The Victorian opposition and business community are calling on the Victorian government to take stronger action.
01:01Whether it's a permit system or whether it's another system,
01:04we need to see an end to the ongoing protests that are occurring in Melbourne.
01:08The Premier says additional police resources will be deployed at upcoming protests,
01:13but is adamant officers have no power to stop peaceful demonstrations.
01:18And she does not agree permits are the answer.
01:22Do you really think they're going to apply for a permit?
01:24And do you really think they'll follow the requirements of that permit?
01:27What is the justification for the Premier here not to do everything at her disposal
01:33to stop these protests from taking place?
