00:01It's now been a day since David Jones called in the administrators and luxury brands are
00:07still pulling their stock out of the department store.
00:11I've just taken a walk through this flagship on Melbourne's Bourke Street.
00:15Brands like Gucci, St. Laurent, completely empty in a sign that they're not sure about
00:21keeping their stock inside this department store.
00:24On the other hand, small Australian mum and dad businesses that supply David Jones, their
00:29really anxious about what happens now.
00:33I've spoken to suppliers of things like homewares, accessories, they say they're owed money from
00:40before David Jones going into administration, they simply have no idea if they'll ever get
00:45that money back.
00:46Now, I've also seen documents from the receivers of David Jones, they're suggesting to suppliers
00:52that while you have to go through the process now to try and claw some money back out of
00:56this business that will still take your product if you'd like it to sell it to us.
01:01Brands are now obviously in a strange predicament with dealing with this situation, not knowing
01:07how long, if David Jones will be rescued by another buyer, whether it's 38 stores will
01:13stay open, whether some stores will be shut down.
01:16Now, we've heard that there's a first creditors meeting that will involve suppliers but also
01:22employees, lenders to the business.
01:25That is set to happen next week but this is a process that could play out well into Christmas
01:30even further before people know about the future of David Jones.
