00:00Get your rollers at the ready as the premiere of a new comedy sequel is coming to St Helen's Theatre Royal this autumn.
00:07I have come to Voodoo Salon on Bald Street to meet some of the cast.
00:12My relationship with my hairdresser is longer than my relationship with my husband and I've been married for 26 years.
00:19There's a lot of loyalty there and also we know each other's secrets.
00:23In The Salon, the sequel, stage and radio star Leanne Campbell reprises her original role as Carol in the new show.
00:30Because this is the sequel, it's a little bit more, I would say, up to date with the goings on of the world.
00:37So even if you've never seen the first play, you come in, you watch this, it's a brand new production, brand new storyline
00:43and a lot of the things you're seeing on the news, on Instagram, on social media, it'll all appear in this. You are going to laugh your socks off.
00:50Leanne will be joined on stage by a line-up of acting talent including Brookside's Sarah White.
00:55It's very real but it's very funny and yeah, it's just hopefully, you know, you get up in the end and you have a little dance
01:04and lots of fun and singing and enjoying yourself and just a big old giggle.
01:10It's Hollyoaks star Darren John Langford's first time performing at the St Helen's venue.
01:15It's my first time at the salon, it's my debut. Also at the Theatre Royal, St Helen's, I haven't worked there before.
01:22I'd auditioned there before but never got the job. So my star has been rising for a very, very long time.
01:30Well, it's the same sort of crazy, nutty, funny, outrageous thing as the original one was.
01:39The new show is designed to work as a stand-alone story so audiences don't have to have seen the original to follow the action.
01:46For anybody that was a bit worried because it's the Salon The Sequel, I think a lot of people would say,
01:51no, well, we didn't see the first one. It doesn't matter.
01:54The Salon The Sequel will run until Sunday 13th October.
