Weather update for Sheffield on Thuraday, September 26, 2024. A yellow weather warning is in place with the Met Office forecasting heavy rain after 7pm, winds of up to 35mph and a chilly night of around 9C.

00:04Morning everyone, it's Alistair from the Sheffield Starstay. I'm coming to you with a small weather

00:07update for September 26th, which is a Thursday. So the Met Office has issued a yellow weather

00:13warning for today. We had some pretty pounding rain last night over Wednesday night. It really

00:18did come down quite hard. Really, it came down much harder last night than it's going

00:21to come down today as it turns out. So if anyone was awake last night from after 10pm

00:26on Wednesday and it was throwing it down, that's about as bad as it's going to get as

00:29far as I can tell. The Met Office is forecasting that from around 4pm is when Sheffield will

00:34see most of the rain today under this yellow weather warning. Honestly, we're not going

00:37to get affected too much until around 4pm. This level that we're at right now is pretty

00:41much it. I don't even have to wear my hood if I don't want to. Yep, from around 4pm is

00:45when it might start to settle in. The actual rain radar forecasts that around 7pm is when

00:49it will really start to pick up. But despite having a yellow weather warning in place,

00:54Sheffield's going to be largely unscathed today as far as I can see. Maybe from around

00:587pm as I say is when it will start pelting down. Two other things to note for is that

01:02it should probably get quite windy as well. From around 4pm it's going to rise from around

01:0730 to up to 35mph winds. Nothing to sniff at, quite the blustery one that is. It's also

01:13going to get quite chilly. We're in for a chilly evening. The Met Office is saying it's

01:16going to feel like around 7 degrees or 9 degrees in places today. The actual temperature is

01:24going to be around 10 or 12 but it will feel like it. It will feel like 9 out because of

01:28the wind and the rain. So really taking an autumnal dive. Not as bad, not as bad. Weather

01:34is not going to be too horrible today. Probably gets worse from around 7pm or so but in the

01:38meantime I don't think there's anything to sniff at. We should be fine.
