Sheffield weather: Another downpour on the way as yellow weather warning issued for rain this Thursday

Sheffield and the North of England are in for another downpour this week as a yellow weather warning for rain has been issued by the Met Office for Thursday, September 26.

00:03again on the rooftop of the Sheffield Star offices where it's actually quite a

00:06nice day but we're not here to talk about that we're going to talk about the

00:09weather for the rest of the week. There has been a yellow weather warning

00:12issued for Thursday this week that being September 26th so this comes straight

00:18after the amber weather warning we had over the weekend for the pretty nasty

00:22rain we had then as well but we've got another one coming on the way yellow

00:25weather warning in place for Thursday. This is brought about by some extremely

00:29heavy rain that's going to arrive overnight on Wednesday essentially

00:32starting at around the 10 o'clock kind of area 10 p.m. area on Wednesday we

00:38should be getting some heavy rain in Sheffield which will then just downpour

00:40into the early hours of Thursday at which point it will then just carry on

00:44at a less intense but just as persistent level for the whole of Thursday

00:48according to the Met Office. So the situation is that we might have a pretty

00:52waterlogged area already and then some rain falling on top of that hence the

00:56yellow weather warning. There's the usual guidance that might be power cuts

01:01there might be some disruption to roads for example. Another aspect of this

01:06they're saying is that it's going to get slightly chillier as the end of the week

01:10goes on as well the average temperature on Thursday expected to be around the

01:1412th sort of area combined with some possible winds of up to 30 miles per

01:17hour that could lead to what is going to be a fairly wet cold blustery autumnal

01:24Thursday coming for us certainly a bit of pretty rotten weather here for

01:28Sheffield. That's the situation yellow weather warning for Thursday and pretty

01:33much more torrential rain to come is the scene. That said that is just the

01:37forecast for the meantime we'll be able to bring you more on this as the week

01:39goes on and the situation may develop but we'll bring you more on this as the

01:43week develops and we'll tell you more on Wednesday no doubt.
