00:00The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation or PhilHealth has confirmed the removal of the single confinement policy.

00:06This was approved by the Benefits Committee of the PhilHealth Board and it will be submitted on Friday to the agency's committee and bank.

00:13Based on a study by the Department of Health or DOH, it was found that in 2023, more than 26,000 claims were not approved due to the single confinement policy.

00:22According to DOH Secretary Tedoro Herbosa, it is time to adjust the PhilHealth policy to reduce the healthcare costs of Filipinos in line with the Universal Healthcare Act of 2019.
