00:00PhilHealth will form a new police force to remove the single period of confinement rule.

00:06This is based on the decision of the Benefits Committee of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation Board of Directors.

00:12This means that a patient or a member of the hospital, due to the same disease or procedure,

00:19will be admitted by PhilHealth within 70 days.

00:23PhilHealth explains that due to the nature of the police,

00:26more than 26,000 patients with pneumonia, acute gastroenteritis, urinary tract infection, and chronic kidney disease

00:35have not been given benefits.

00:37According to Health Secretary Ted Herbosa,

00:39it is time for these benefits to be adjusted so that the Philippine people do not have to spend money in their pockets.
