00:00Well here's a man that's been impressing us all weekend, Piero Martini, just 5 foot 3 driving the

00:07Minardi Cosworth engine in the back. I believe they've done quite a bit of their own engine

00:12development. We've mapped the engine management system since the Canadian Grand Prix. They're

00:17absolutely delighted with the performance of the engine and the car. We were talking to Piero

00:23yesterday and of course he is looking forward to the Ferrari engines which will come next year,

00:28but meanwhile he's extracting the absolute maximum from this very well-balanced chassis.

00:33This team runs about 80 people compared with a sort of 170 staff of people like William. So it

00:39is really a small compact team from Fienza in Italy, but they certainly know their racing.

00:45The man who owns the team actually is the longest-standing Fiat dealer in Italy and

00:52that's one of the reasons that's helped them get the Ferrari engines for next year.

00:55But Minardi was fastest for the first 30 minutes of Friday's qualifying. This is his first flying

01:02lap now. Let's see if he can move up from fifth spot. John, well he's decided not to move up at

01:07all. He's gone straight into the pit again. Minardi, Pirelli tyres, Martini, they've just

01:13got to go out and get a feel for the car for these conditions. The temperature has risen almost 10

01:17degrees from when we stopped this morning and Martini is like every other driver who are going

01:22out there to battle for their pole position or for the best grid position they can get. They

01:26have to do it knowing the car is at its best. So I'm sure Martini is going back into the garage

01:31to put the Minardi up on jack, have a little talk about it, make some small changes and when they

01:37feel the time is right and when Martini himself feels ready to go out and do it, you have to

01:43prepare yourself with a certain amount of striking involved in these laps. He will go out in another

01:48few moments' time.
