I was diagnosed with a brain tumour, a real shock and really it was just that we didn't

know what was coming next. I'd never ever heard about the palliative care, but we're

glad we're here.

It just means that there's somebody there for us, isn't it?

Palliative care to me is about living, not dying. It's about people having full quality

of life and living as well as possible for as long as possible and continuing to do things

that are really important to them. So continuing to do the things that bring them their life

meaning and enjoyment.

We can make a difference. We can see the effect that it has on people whenever you allow people

to do the things that they maybe didn't think they'd be able to do anymore. There's just

such a value in that and just to be able to be there for families.

If I hadn't have found out about it, you know, I wouldn't have known what to do really.
