00:00Two men have admitted murdering Inverness father Ross McGillivray in a brutal attack.

00:05Craig Hayden, 30, and Leon Heady, 23, killed the 36-year-old at a home on St. Ninian Drive

00:12in November 2023. Ross was restrained, punched and kicked and stamped on during the assault.

00:19The pair were due to stand on trial at the High Court in Glasgow, but both pleaded guilty.

00:24Ross's estranged wife, Samantha McGillivray, had also faced a murder charge.

00:30Her not guilty plea was accepted, but she admitted attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

00:36They remain in custody.

00:38Ross's family described him as a loving husband and doting father, loved by all who met him,

00:44and missed but never forgotten.
