00:00The government will implement a wide-ranging vaccination program for children in the coming months.

00:05It aims to increase the vaccination rate in the country

00:09and to protect children from various diseases.

00:12Alan Francisco will give you the details.

00:18The Vaccination School Program is an initiative of the Department of Health

00:22to encourage parents to vaccinate their children against various diseases,

00:28such as tigdaz, rubella, tetanus, diphtheria, hepatitis B, polio, and many others.

00:35It is part of the National Immunization Program.

00:38According to Health Secretary Chedoro Herbosa,

00:41the Vaccination School Program will be launched on October 7 this year

00:45for grades 1 and 7, including grades 4.

00:49We have a big catch-up.

00:51We will restore the previous immunization rate and strengthen the National Immunization Program.

00:58We will do this starting October.

01:01This is our program.

01:04I invited the President to help us and lead us in the Vaccination School.

01:09It is a free vaccine for grades 1 and 7.

01:13They will be given measles and rubella vaccine and tetanus and diphtheria.

01:18We will also get zero-dose children.

01:22For grades 4, 9-year-old girls,

01:28they will be given human papillomavirus vaccine or anti-cervical cancer vaccine.

01:34Secretary Herbosa invited President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. to lead this event.

01:41According to her, the President himself led the sectoral meeting.

01:45Although this will be done in a public school,

01:48Calihim said that public schools will still accept students from private schools.

01:55The target of the Department of Health is to vaccinate two million children every year

02:00so that there will be a fight against the disease.

02:02DOH is also cooperating with DILG,

02:04particularly in the barangay where this program is held.

02:07Hi sir. How is the coordination of your department with DILG?

02:12I understand, it's the smallest unit of the government in the barangay, sir.

02:17Yes. So, I have a program now that is all about health.

02:21Local government units are really monitored.

02:24The fully immunized child is one of those parameters.

02:28They will not be defeated by the seal of good government that DILG gives.

02:35They will not be defeated if their immunization rate is low.

02:40Meanwhile, the government of Pagsugpo in Dengue and Leptospirosis Cases is also in action.
