00:00The young di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim has called for a thorough investigation into

00:06the alleged crimes and child abuse involving the welfare homes which authorities have linked

00:11to global ikuan services and business holdings.

00:15Sultan Ibrahim expressed deep concern over the matter following news reports on the raids

00:19on the welfare homes last week.

00:22He advised all parties to avoid going overboard with their statements and views on the matter,

00:27highlighting its sensitive nature.

00:29According to the Royal Press Office, Sultan Ibrahim also said matters relating to the

00:34faith of the Muslim community must always be safeguarded and should never be taken lightly.

00:39Last Wednesday, police raided 20 welfare homes in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan which authorities

00:44had linked to GISBH.

00:47Police said 402 children were rescued and investigations showed that at least 13 of them

00:52were allegedly sodomized or taught to sexually assault others.

00:56Among those arrested were an ustaz and a hostel warden.
