00:00We have this date of June 30th that it felt very, very convenient for P&S reporting that

00:08Archie Gray went on deadline day for P&S reporting on June 30th. Angus Kinnear says that was the

00:14final day of his exit clause and he also said that whilst an exit clause is not something any

00:22club will ever want to put in a player's contract, they wanted to build flexibility in his contract

00:29that allowed them to have some control over time, so essentially when they could sell him.

00:34So I guess maybe you could say as an emergency measure Leeds maybe wanted the June 30th in there.

00:43If there's going to be an exit clause can it have an expiry date of June 30th so that if we need to

00:49sell him we can sell him before? I don't know. Or maybe it's the other way, it's that we don't want

00:56it hanging over us all summer so if he's going to go he has to go by the June 30th so we know

01:01what our P&S position is and then we know who else we have to sell if anyone. The problem of

01:06course with that is that Somerville and Routier have exit clauses that then were activated later

01:11in the window so giving yourself an element of control it's a bit of a false economy when you're

01:18as helpless as Leeds were. But I think what Kinnear did was, and he had to be pressed on this by Dan

01:26Moylan, was that he essentially admitted yes we needed to sell, we needed two key sales.

01:33Even if they didn't need to sell Grey by that weekend they needed to sell someone and at that

01:39stage they've got this offer and well multiple offers because it was Villa then it was

01:46Brentford then it was Spurs. But I think what Dan was trying to get to was don't let the fans

01:53believe that this was Archie Grey banging on the door trying to get out, pushing for a move to any

01:59club that he could get to in the Premier League and I think that's where the interview largely arrived.
