00:03Derbyshire residents affected by Storm Bebet may soon be given the chance to comment on the

00:08findings of a flood report if Derbyshire County Council agrees to a public consultation.

00:13The authority is already compiling its report into the flooding which will provide a record

00:17of events and could provide recommendations on how future flood risks are managed.

00:22It follows Storm Bebet which caused enormous damage to the county's bridges, rivers and culverts

00:26and claimed the life of Maureen Gilbert aged 83 who died at her home in Tapton Terrace in

00:31Chesterfield. The council's cabinet is due to decide at a meeting on September the 18th whether

00:37to approve the new public consultation into the findings of the flood investigation report

00:41with a final document expected to be ready by early 2025.

02:09A Chesterfield pub has been sold after being placed on the market with supermarket giant

02:28Lidl responding to claims that they had purchased the venue. The Red Lion located on Sheffield Road

02:33on Whittington Moor was placed up for sale earlier this year with Florets marketing the property.

02:39The venue has now been sold subject to contract and was described by the estate agents as an

02:43attractive stone built pub with a patio seating area for 40 people and parking spaces at the rear

02:48of the property. Rumours had circulated online suggesting that Lidl had purchased the pub

02:53which sits next to the site at the Lidl Sheffield Road store. However when the Derbyshire Times

02:58approached the supermarket for comment the company confirmed that they had not bought the Red Lion.
