00:08Roc Nation, NFL, and Apple Music made the announcement on Sunday, saying the rapper
00:12will be Super Bowl 59's big headliner, with the big game taking place on February 9, 2025,
00:19at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. Lamar previously performed at the 2022 halftime
00:24show with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and 50 Cent.
00:29In a statement, Lamar said,
00:30"...rap music is still the most impactful genre to date, and I'll be there to remind
00:34the world why. They got the right one."
00:37It was a big year for the artist, when he emerged at the top of the Billboard charts
00:40with the anthemic Not Like Us, and Like That with Future and Metro Boomin.
00:45Jay-Z and his Roc Nation company are returning to produce the halftime show for the sixth
00:49year.
00:50This year's halftime show, featuring Usher, was nominated for three Emmys and became the
00:54most-watched halftime performance of all time.
