Dog who actually plays hockey with a stick gets a little sister who learns how to play goalie for him ❤️  We spoke with Darrel's mom about his love for sports and how he reacted to his puppy sister!

00:00He was just really smart and wanted to learn.

00:10And so my husband and I started teaching him different unique sports and tricks.

00:22I've taught him things before where instantly I'm like, this was a horrible idea.

00:27He just lives for happiness and excitement and people cheering him on.

00:33He gets really excited about hockey.

00:36Every time he would hit it into the net, he would look at me and then give me a little smile and be like, do you see that?

00:43My husband and I both love hockey. So we

00:47decided it would be funny to like see if he could hold a stick.

00:51It was unintentional at the beginning, and then he realized very quickly that I was asking him to hit the ball with a stick.

01:02And once he started doing that, he was so excited.

01:09Oh, Daryl! Yay!

01:13We decided it was time to start looking for a dog.

01:16Her and Daryl didn't hit it off right away.

01:19Oh, what?

01:22Hey, come here.

01:26Excuse me.

01:28Took a little bit of time.

01:30They started to enjoy each other's company.

01:33Daryl has shown Gertrude how to do everything.

01:37By everything, I mean everything.

01:49Oh, my gosh, it was a double whammy.

01:56Double whammy!

01:58I never once introduced her to the hockey net, it was just there.

02:01Instantly, she found out that she could be the goalie.

02:10Started having Daryl practice hockey with her as goalie.

02:15So, he upgraded from having stuffed animals in the net to having a real, live stuffed animal.

02:22Oh, you did your best! You did so good!

02:27Go get him!

02:29Boom!

02:30Ah, Daryl! He's good!

02:33All this stuff, all the training is 100% on their terms.

02:38This is one of those things where it just happens.

02:42Hey, Daryl!

02:44Score!

02:46It's been really fun to see Gertrude following us in his footsteps.

02:49Daryl has taken on the big brother role like a champ.

02:54And it's just been really, really cool to see the two of them grow together as siblings.

03:02It really feels like our little family is complete.
