00:12The operation, carried out by the Anti-Trafficking and Anti-Smuggling Division of Bukit Aman's
00:17Criminal Investigation Department, also resulted in the arrest of 398 individuals.
00:22According to Sinaharian, Bukit Aman's CID D3 Principal Assistant Director, Sofian Santong,
00:28said the operation was conducted nationwide in two phases.
00:32Sofian reported that most of the victims were from Myanmar, with 35 people, followed by
00:36Thailand, with 25, and Indonesia, with 23.
00:40The operation, which targeted factory premises, plantations, fisheries, service sectors, and
00:45baggage, involved cooperation from the Immigration Department, the Labor Department, the Environment
00:51Department, the Naga Nasional Berhad, and local authorities.
00:54Sofian said the police would not compromise on human trafficking crimes, and would take
00:58strict legal action against those responsible, including under the Security Offences Act
01:032012.
