00:00And you can imagine that people here in Chicago are super excited about watching Caleb Williams

00:05get to work.

00:06Now that there's a full body of work from the preseason, the roster at least has its

00:10initial 53 people on it.

00:13What would you say the proper level of excitement about Caleb Williams this season should be?

00:18Well, you know, I've heard people compare the Bears potentially last year's Texans.

00:22The difference is the Texans were anonymous and there wasn't that same hype with CJ Stroud.

00:29And they had all their games tucked into the one o'clock Eastern window on Sunday, except

00:35at the very end of the season when they got flexed to Saturday night for the AFC South

00:38Championship game.

00:39I mean, the Bears are going to be on NBC facing the Texans week two, so they can't hide.

00:45And they're in a tough division.

00:46So I think that the Bears are going to be competitive, they're going to be fun to watch.

00:50Caleb Williams reminds me of Patrick Mahomes, and I think he's the first guy in this new

00:54generation of quarterbacks who were young.

00:57He was 16 when Mahomes started doing Mahomes-ian things.

01:00And guys realize, hey, if I've got the physical ability, there's a different way I can play.

01:04And they start emulating it.

01:05And then all of a sudden, six years later, here's Caleb Williams looking a lot like a

01:09carbon copy of Mahomes.

01:10So I think there's reason to be excited.

01:12The great equalizer in all of these situations are injuries.

01:16And we don't know who's going to get injured.

01:17We don't know when they're going to get injured.

01:18We don't know how many games they're going to miss.

01:20But injuries will change everything.

01:23We see it in the preseason, we'll see it week one.

01:28And that's the thing that can take the air out of the balloon for any team.

01:30We know it's going to happen.

01:31And the key is staying healthy, getting consistent, and being better and better throughout the

01:35year.

01:36And you hope to peak in the postseason and win a few games.

01:39I think the Bears could be in the mix for a playoff berth this year.
